I haven't done much hiking on the Sunrise side of Mount Rainier. But after this hike I certainly plan to.

This was one of my first hikes up the Glacier Basin trail, towards the Emmons Moraine glaicer. This view, from about two miles up trail, awakens that crisp feeling of fresh air and warm sunlight for me. The turquoise glacial lake and the snowcapped mountain remind me of the rock hard strength of ice as well as the flowing penetrability of water. God, like the wilderness, can be a mingling of extremes.
